I’ve had GPS’s of various ilks for over ten years, and this is the best one yet. If you like bluetooth, but don’t like them in your ear, this is the one for you. Your cell phone works seamlessly with this bluetooth, and it shows your complete cell phone book in it. If your cell phone is also voice dial capab le so is the bluetooth. IGood Unit, it boots quicker than any other I’ve had and it refreshes very quickly. It isn’t the fanciest on the market but it does most things and does them well.

I already have two GPS Navigation devices but I was swayed to purchase this one because of the text-to-speech and the hands-free phone capability. I have been using the device for about one month and I am extremely pleased. It is easy to use for navigation and the hands-free operation is great for making or answering calls while driving. I also am very pleased that I can have the map scroll and show the cross streets, etc., when I am just driving with no destination set — If I already know where I am going.

I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. His dad has a Street Pilot by Garmin and we used it all the time to travel. So I decided to buy him one. He loves it. He’s a police officer and he takes it with him on the road. He makes phone calls from it via bluetooth. All around great product. As far as the MP3 compatible there wasn’t much to access on the site that was provided so we just upload from our computer instead.

Works right out of the box and very easy to use. Quick sattellite searching, easy setting and good maps. Bluetooth is very easy to set up, I paired my phone with this unit in less than 1 min. and clear voice when using as phone reciever. This is my second Garmin GPS.

The best thing about this GPS are all the options you have. You can get your directions from an American woman, an American man, an Australian woman, an Australian man, a British woman, a British man… the list of languages as well as accents has been fun. The women tend to sound less electronic to me (except for “Jill,” who says the word “ramp” rather oddly). It is also very hand to be able to enter your destination via either the name of the store or the address… or you can also search by categories (food - BBQ), which will give you a list in the order of proximity. You can also save your favorite destinations, including the address of people you know. It’s fun to hear friends’ names being spoken. The size is handy, and it’s nice having a carrying case. I usually slip it into the case and into my purse when I leave the car (one of my friends had her car broken into and her GPS stolen).

Of course it does take a few minutes (after you flip up the satellite receiver) for the GPS to figure out where you are, and it does not provide you with as many options as perhaps the phone book (or even just driving around). But it does give you a good start if you have never been to the area and have no idea! The only real disappointment is that (living in California) we cannot mount the GPS directly on the windshield, and the mount does not stick to anything else on our car… so we’ll have to find another way to mount it. So for now, I have to just hold it on my lap :-(
